Samsung to Push out Vivid Color Fix for Galaxy S24 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Users Report Low Color Saturation Issues with Vivid Screen Mode

Samsung has been known for providing various color profiles for their smartphones. With them, users can easily gain boosted colors and contrast to enhance the overall viewing experience.

For many years, the company has offered two color profiles for their phone, including the normal and the Vivid and Natural display color options.

If you choose the Natural color option from the display settings, you will obtain the default color saturation and accurate contrast as a result.

But at the same time, the Vivid color mode brings more saturation to the screen. But recently, many Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone users have pointed out low color saturation issues with the Vivid color mode.

Apart from the top-end variant, the same issues are also noticeable in the rest of the Galaxy S24 series phones to a certain extent.

As compared to the previous Galaxy S23 lineup phone, the new Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup wasn’t able to produce high-saturation colors that pop out from the screen.

The difference is evident when you put the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra side by side.

On the official Samsung forum, the user shows concern about the washout color profile in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

But realistically speaking, it’s a bit of an understatement, as the users won’t notice the difference in the first place. When you switch the screen mode from Natural to Vivid, you won’t notice any serious color boosting.

Generally, when you are using a previous-gen phone like the Galaxy S23 Ultra, a sudden color shift will appear when you change the screen mode.

Although it’s a minor display issue, it’s a major concern for crisp HDR content consumption. However, if you are using the normal mode, you won’t encounter any problems with the display.

How to fix the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Vivid Color Display Issue?

Furthermore, Samsung also stated that the vivid color profile problem will be fixed with the upcoming software update, supposedly the mid-Feb security patch.

On the other hand, many people are speculating that this issue occurs due to the Anti-reflective coating that appears on the display.

Yet, it’s confirmed that it’s not a hardware issue. Instead, it’s a software bug. Nonetheless, the display vivid color profile issue occurring on the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra can be fixed.

However, the company hasn’t started a specific deadline to roll out an update for this issue.

Possibly, the upcoming software update will restore the vibrant screen mode setting with ease.

Although it’s not an official confirmation that the February security patch update will resolve this bug, we will let you know when they roll out this update.
